Fall Opportunities

Hello Young at Heart Friends and Family;

Last week YAH was offered an opportunity to promote Young at Heart at the Creston Neighborhood Association Annual Meeting. Hopefully we will see some of our neighbors joining us soon at some of our activities.

Monday, November 10 at 1:15, Dan Miller, former Calvin College History Professor, will be sharing his experiences living in Newberry Place, a collaborative living environment in Grand Rapids. Collaborative living focuses on sharing spaces and communal activities that help foster a sense of belonging and a connection among its members. It’s a great option as one considers downsizing from their current living situation. Come and learn more!

Help us Celebrate Veterans and show our appreciation for their commitment and sacrifice. Wednesday, November 12, we will welcome three women presenting on their experiences while enlisted with the U.S Military. Lunch will be served at Noon. Menu: Tuna and Chicken Salad Sandwiches on mini-croissants, Fruit and a Dessert, Cost is $6.00. Presentation, starting at 12:45 is FREE. Click here for more information.

Here are our November Birthday Celebrants. If you see them, wish them a HaPpY BiRthDaY: Julie Biegmann, Mary Bierlein, Camille Dondzila, Doreen Forgue, Ricki Frey, Karen Gentry, Kathy Hekker, Mary Hickey, Millie Hogan, Nancy Kuzniar, Jeanne Pitsch, Dick Sheler, Nancy Sheler, Char Snoap, Bob Thiel, Phil VanHuffel, Gerri Winks, Phyllis Wright, and Linda Zios. Join them and your other YAH friends on Wednesday, November 19 at 9:30 for Brunch, catered by Deb and Kaye. Menu: Pumpkin-Spiced Oatmeal, Baked Eggs and Sausage, Yogurt with Fruit. Cost $6.00. RSVP by Fri. November 14. BirthDay Celebrants are FREE,

GREAT OPPORTUNITY: There is still time to purchase your Raffle Tickets for a 7 Night stay in Puerto Rico. This makes a great early Christmas gift possibility… The drawing will take place on Monday, December 1 at Noon.

Our Exercise Classes continue to see growth. This week, we encourage you to try Chair or Standing Tai Chi. It is a gentle exercise that can promote balance, strength and better breathing. This is a great opportunity especially after recovering from surgery. Here is our new flyer; same great classes, taught by Mary Kaiser.

Linked here is the Walking Club Schedule for November. Enjoy a Fall Walk with friends. It takes the morning chill away, while seeing the Fall beauty.

Looking Forward to some fun, healthy and informative opportunities to share,

Virginia
