Hello Young at Heart Friends and Family;
Boy, do I have some fun stuff for you today!!
WE ARE HONORED:

This past week we had a GREAt turn out for our Voices of Valor Presentation. We were all honored as three Veterans entrusted us with their stories of camaraderie, heartache, dedication, and resilience. Once again, thank you for your continued bravery!! Part III: “Women in War” will be held November 12 at 12:45.

We also had our own group of dedicated volunteers making beautiful Thanksgiving cards that will be sent to our Homebound friends next month. They make fun and beautiful cards that bring a smile and joyful cheer to another’s home via the mailbox.

Then we have the Calvin Nursing Students… Let us give thanks for those young students that are putting their lives on the line during a time when healthcare is risky, unpredictable, and such an important part of our lives.
On Wednesday, October 29, we are offering a day of health, nurturance and relaxation. Angie Delight, will share important information on Nutrition, while Blue Heron Massage Students will be back for a 10 minute massages. Be sure to RSVP for your time slot. The Ginger Chef will be demonstrating a tasty Fall Soup, and a healthy salad and dessert will top off your lunch. There will be Door Prizes you can enter to win, with Oak Street Health finishing the day off with a presentation on Heart and Brain Health aimed to reduce heart attacks and strokes.
Our raffle for a 7 night stay in Puerto Rico is off to a great start! People are embracing the idea of winning either a relaxing get-away for themselves or a gift for their family members. I just love dreaming about the warm, quiet, gorgeous spot to relax and take a break from the real world for a bit…
