Fall is a Time to Grow

Hello Young at Heart Friends and Family;

Each Fall YAH asks participants to complete a survey, assessing your satisfaction with the programming, if it continues to help you have a safer and healthier life, and give you a chance to share your thoughts, suggestions, or other comments. I wanted to share with you the outcomes based on the 77 responses we received:

  • 97% stated they are satisfied with the programming
  • 84% stated it has improved their physical health
  • 75% stated it has helped them gain new skills
  • 73% stated it helps you get out of the house
  • 82% stated it helps them socialize more
  • 99% of you agreed that the atmosphere is welcoming and friendly
  • 6% identified a conflict as sometimes classes of interest overlap.

Thank you to all who completed a survey. We are open to your ideas, suggestions, feedback all year long.

Unfortunately, YAH did not get enough early registrations for the Blood Pressure Class that was being offered by the National Kidney Foundation.

ZUMBA is off to a great start! Elsie makes this class tons of fun and a great work-out. She sets a comfortable pace to help you learn the dance steps, and feel accomplished. Class is FREE, offered through the YMCA. Zumba meets Tuesdays at 11:30-12:30.

YOGA is building its core group. Alesha offers a Gentle Yoga class, creating a relaxed atmosphere to strengthen your core and increase your flexibility. Walk out feeling relaxed and stretched. Donation of $3.00 is suggested. No one is turned away.  Yoga meets Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:30-10:30.

LIFT is defining its space as a place for participants to build meaningful relationships. Burt offers a place to share your life experiences, foster more personal relationships. It’s both conversational and offers opportunities for new experiences. LIFT is about connecting, belonging, and sharing our stories. Leave feeling connected and heard. Class is FREE. LIFT meets Tuesdays at 10:45-12:15.

All are open to new participants of any age.  Come check us out! We hope to see you! You will leave energized and connected. You will be grateful you did as each opportunity offers you a place to invest in your health and grow.

Speaking of sharing stories, feeling connected, growing and feeling grateful, come join us for VOICES of VALOR. This will be a powerful and moving event as veterans share their personal experiences from serving during times of war. These are real stories—often difficult to tell and sometimes hard to hear—spoken in their own words. in their own words. This is a rare opportunity to witness the strength, courage, and sacrifice behind the uniform. Some veterans will also share personal photos to help bring their stories to life. COME LISTEN, HONOR and REMEMBER. COME AND THANK THEM !

Growing Together!
