Dear Young at Heart Friends and Family;
We apologize for some confusion on the timeliness of our weekly newsletter. Holidays, vacations, illness, miscommunications… have impacted our schedules. Thank you for your patience! (Also, for those who are not familiar with e-newsletters… click onto the words in light green to see the flyers that are linked. These flyers will give you more information.)
NOW:
This Wednesday, September 10 at 12:45-2:15 YAH kicks off our three part series; “Voices of Valor.” This is a dynamic series where we will give voice to those who have served on the front lines. With the understanding, the “front lines” look different for each of those who have served, no two stories will be the same. This month’s presenter, son of a WWII medic shares love letters, and stories of perspectives from both sides… war and home. Please join us as we LISTEN, HONOR, REMEMBER, SUPPORT and GIVE THANKS.
UPDATES:
- Having apologized, one of the changes in our class schedule is the Stress Less with Mindfulness Class. Georgina has extended her absence and will NOT be able to start the class on September 24 as originally intended. We will hope to get it rescheduled soon. I will keep you posted.
- Instead of meeting at Huff Park, the Walking Club will be meeting at Blandford Nature Center to walk the trails on Saturday, September 27 at 9:30. This is a BEAUTIFUL time to see the Fall colors beginning to glow! Please RSVP if you wish to join the group. Walking sticks are encouraged.
Our September Birthday Celebrants are: Cecilia Batungbacal, Rosie Blakeslee, Lucy Chatel, Colleen Cleves, Lois Ditmar, Shirley Dutkiewicz, Jim Gardeski, Barbara Linderman, Anita Margelis, Mary Milanowski, Pat Rockwell, John Spielmaker, Pat Steinport, JuJu Thompson, Dave Van Dyke, and Heidi Walker. Join us on Wednesday, September 17 at 9:30 as we help them celebrate their BirthDay! Cost is $6.00 for non-celebrants. AARP will be joining us for a short presentation at 10:45 on two Pillars of Brain Health – Socializing and Brain Stimulation. The presentation is FREE.
REMINDERS:
- Jennifer Feuerstein, will be sharing all the benefits available to us through AARP. “A Taste of AARP,” is sure to be very informative. Join us on Monday, September 15 at 12:45-1:45. This presentation is FREE.
- Melissa Mitchell will be here on Monday, September 22 at 12:45 for a seminar on Advanced Planning. Join Melissa Mitchell from Heritage Lifestory Funeral Home to learn why Advance Planning matters. Advance funeral planning offers peace of mind by ensuring your wishes are clearly documented and honored, relieving your family from having to make difficult decisions during a time of grief. It allows you to lock in today’s prices, helping to avoid future financial burdens on loved ones while giving you full control over how you want to be remembered. Most importantly, it’s a thoughtful and loving gift to your family, easing their emotional and financial stress when they will need it most.
Looking forward to Learning, Celebrating and Giving Thanks Together!
