Hello Young at Heart Friends and Family;
Last week, YAH hosted Valerie VanHeest from Holland, Michigan. She offered a fascinating presentation on her investigation into a fatal plane crash and the healing it brought to the family of the victims. Thanks to the West Michigan Baseball Association who sponsored this event.

Monday, July 7, YAH will be meeting at Mary Waters Park (near the corner of Leonard and Lafayette), at 9:30 for socializing and games. A picnic lunch will be served at noon, followed by Bingo. Please RSVP. There will be no exercise class that day due to Colleen’s vacation. Tai Chi and Yoga classes will be held at 2nd Church.
Our final Spring/Summer Speaker is Dianna Stempfler, reflecting on the history of female lighthouse keepers on the Great Lakes. Join us for an Ice Cream Social at 6:15, followed by the presentation at 7:00 on Wednesday, July 9. Cost is $10.00. Please RSVP. Coonen Law is the Sponsor for this event. Monday July 14 and Wednesday July 16, the YAH crafters are holding a “We Make It, You Take it,” event. They will have many of their crafts on display for you to purchase. First Come, first serve.
YAH has two new presenters this month:
- Marilyn Heeringa from Detox for a Healthy Living will be bringing her iTeraCare Pain device. Marilyn aims to reduce your pain using electromagnetic waves to penetrate deep into tissues to help with various types of pain, including muscle tension, joint pain and chronic discomfort. It aims to reduce inflammation, stimulate cell rejuvenation, and improve circulation. Schedule a 15 minute appointment on Monday, July 14, between 1:00-2:00. RSVP is required.
- Oak Street Health will be coming to YAH on a monthly basis!!! On Monday, July 21 at 10:00, Caleb will be bringing Coffee and Donuts and offering a presentation on Who Oak Street Health is, and what services they offer the Grand Rapids Community.
