Can you believe we are already saying goodbye to September and HELLO to October? 
First, this weekly email may arrive in your inbox a day later than usual, and I apologize! With all the busyness and exciting things happening at Young at Heart, the time simply got away from me.

MAHJONG IS COMING TO YAH!
Have you ever wanted to learn to play Mahjong?
Well, we may have just the opportunity for you!

Someone will be joining us to introduce Mahjong and give us an idea of what we could expect from a class right here at Young at Heart.
If there is enough interest, we will offer it! 
So, if you’ve been curious about Mahjong, SHOW UP and show your interest! Better yet, bring a friend who might like to learn too.
This could be another FUN addition to our YAH activities!

What happens when 13 Young at Heart participants get together for lunch?
LOTS of talking, laughter and FUN! 
Our group gathered at SCORE for a delicious meal together. The weather decided that we would be eating inside, but NO PROBLEM! Our group kept the chatter going and simply enjoyed spending time together.
Sometimes the best activity is just sitting around a table with friends!
ZUMBA IS BACK!

ZUMBA returns Tuesday, September 29!
Get ready to move, dance, laugh and enjoy the music. Whether every step is perfect or not doesn’t matter — just keep moving and have FUN!

Meet at Riverside Park for our October 3 walk.
Fall is a beautiful time to get outside, enjoy the changing season and get some exercise with friends.
YAH IN ACTION — HELPING OTHERS!
We are very proud of this one!
On Friday, September 18, several members of our Young at Heart group traveled to Lowell to help pack shoeboxes for the Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child program.
This program sends gift-filled shoeboxes to children in need around the world. 
But our YAH participants didn’t arrive empty-handed!
YAH participants made 100 wooden cars!
Our Sewing Club donated 15 pillowcase dresses!
And then our volunteers helped pack the shoeboxes that will eventually make their way to children.
WOW — 100 CARS & 15 DRESSES!
What a wonderful example of Young at Heart in ACTION for others!
A BIG thank you to everyone who made the cars, sewed the dresses, traveled to Lowell, packed boxes or helped in any way.
THIS is what community is all about.
OCTOBER, HERE WE COME!
September may be ending, but Young at Heart certainly isn’t slowing down!
Maybe you’ll discover Mahjong. Maybe you’ll dance at Zumba. Maybe you’ll join our walkers. Maybe you’ll find a bargain. Maybe you’ll simply sit down and share a meal with friends.
