Can you believe we’re already getting ready to close out another month? Time certainly flies when you’re having fun at Young at Heart!
We have one more week of activities before we turn the page to July—and watch out, because July is packed with exciting events and opportunities! Be sure to check your July calendar. If you happen to spot a mistake, come see me at lunch and I’ll reward you with a Smartie candy. After all, smart people deserve Smarties!

Service Project Success!
“When they said it would be a quiet craft project…”
“The hammers determined that was a lie!”
On June 15th, we participated in a service project that was both meaningful and fun. It may have been a little noisy with all the hammering and pounding, but together we got the job done!
Working with Samaritan’s Purse and the Operation Christmas Child program, our participants became Santa’s summer helpers by assembling adorable wooden toy cars. These cars were designed by local West Michigan resident Ken Postema and will be included in shoeboxes sent to children in developing countries around the world.
The shoeboxes are filled with notebooks, pencils, toys, and of course, our handcrafted wooden cars.

Last year alone, volunteers built over 97,400 cars, and this year Young at Heart proudly contributed another 200 cars to the effort.
A special thank you goes to our Sewing Club, which donated 75 handmade dresses for little girls. Your generosity and dedication are making a difference in the lives of children you’ll never meet but who will certainly feel your love.

Our June Birthday Lunch was a wonderful celebration filled with laughter, friendship, and good food. We even had a few lucky lottery winners!
Congratulations to our winners, and thank you to everyone who joined us for the celebration. Since everyone had such a great time, we’ll be doing it all again next month!

Join us at beautiful Roselle Park in Ada! This paved figure-eight trail winds through a scenic 240-acre nature preserve located on the former Ada Beef Company property. The park also offers natural trails and wonderful views along the Grand River.
