Season of Goodbyes

Hello Young at Heart Friends and Family;

As we say “good-bye” to winter, the grass gets greener, daffodils shine bright, and the birds greet each morning… I am strongly aware of time passing and my last day at YAH coming soon! I hope you can join us for the Open House and Goodbye Pizza Lunch scheduled for Wednesday, April 22. RSVP for lunch.

This week Wednesday, April 15, at 10:45-11:15, the Calvin Nursing Students will be doing a presentation on Parkinson’s Disease. Did you know, more than 1.1 million people are affected by Parkinsons, with nearly 90,000 diagnosed each year? Learn about the signs and symptoms, and what are believed to be contributing factors.

Just a reminder, Joslin will be at YAH on Wednesday, April 22 at 10:00-11:30 to highlight Technology Support for users of Android systems. Joslin will offer Tech Support for Apple users on Wednesday, April 29 at 10:00-11:30. These will be Joslin’s last classes. Be sure to stop in to say “Thank you!”

Mary Kaiser, Chair Tai Chi instructor, continues her road to recovery. Unfortunately, I do not have any update regarding a short term chair exercise class. Mary plans to return on Monday, June 1.

Linked here is information regarding the upcoming Male Schubert Spring Concert. Come hear some Oldies, May 16. Tickets are available through Chris Kaiser and YAH.

As we say good-bye to one season, we look forward to the challenges and opportunities that lay ahead.

Happy Spring,

Virgina
