Join us for a Busy Month

Hello Young at Heart Friends and Family;

So did March come in like a Lion or a Lamb? Both or Neither??? I am not sure which I would pick, but I do know I appreciate the sunny days!

This week kicks off an upcoming busy month at YAH. Linked are a few flyers that highlight all the special events aimed at improving our mental, emotional and physical health.

  1. A MATTER OF SAFETY highlights a visit by Michael Curtis from the GR Fire Dept, and Andrew Smith from the GR Police Dept; a presentation on Mental Health Services from Reliance Integrated Wellness Center, a two-part series on Dementia, and a presentation by Disabilty Advocates.
  2. A MATTER OF GROWTH AND STIMULATION highlights a two-part series on The History of Michigan, Lenten Reflections and St. Patrick’s Activities.
  3. PAINTING BOWLS FOR SOUPS ON! join the fun of painting a bowl, mug or plate… keep it or donate it to God’s Kitchen!
  4. WHAT’S HAPPENIN’ AT YAH is an opportunity to get a picture of the status of YAH, the success of 2025 and the goals for 2026. Come, listen, ask questions, and share your ideas for a successful 2026!

DONATIONS:

  1. The Sewing Club is asking for donations of polyfill as they prepare to give stuffed toys/ teddy bears to the GR Fire and Police Departments, and prepare for our Mother’s Day and Fathers Day Showers this Spring.
  2. Young at Heart sends appproximately 45 homemade cards nine times a year to homebound individuals, as well as sends out approximately 25 Birthday cards each month. We are always in need of stamps.
  3. With spring in the air, it’s a great time to clean out your closets, basements, and garages! The bi-annual 2nd Best Sale is collecting donations for the May rummage sale. If you have any items from your home that are gently used and could be a treasure for someone else, bring it in on a Monday or Wednesday, and we can take it down to storage for you to contribute to the church fundraiser.

AROUND TOWN:

Jean’s neice will be at YAH on Wednesday, March 18 to sell Girl Scout Cookies. More information next week.

    Hoping to see you soon as we look forward to Spring!
