For your Heart!

Hello Young at Heart Friends and Family;

Valentines 2026 has passed, but as we age, we recognize we should be good to our loved ones everyday! Likewise, we need to be good to our heart everyday! Being good to our heart may mean finding joy each day, thinking positively, taking deep breaths, exercising regularly, eating a healthy diet, or even sending an uplifting wish to someone else…

♥️ Let’s wish our February Birthday Celebrants a HaPpY BiRtHDaY:

 Sue Atkinson, Debbie Bradcoski, Mark Clements, Ralph Cooper, Becky deLongpre, Yvonne Elliott, Barb Farrey, Joanne Gether, Sue Glass, Linda Hart, Mary Hormuth, Lynn Jachim, Nancy Jansma, Elsie Johnson, Toni Johnson, Cindy Johnston, Remiblanca Kuklewski, Aloise Lewakowski, Frank Madura, Amy Manning, Jo McGavin, George Mervau, Suzie Mervau, Charles Palazzolo, Diane Ritzke, Shari Russell, Joan Sundsmo, Terry Wilks, John Yowaish, and Carol Gesser.

♥️ TUESDAY, February 16 at 10:30-11:30 starts the first of a five part series on Stress Less with Mindfulness. This is brought to us by Michigan State University- Extension Services. Research has shown that practicing mindfulness is effective in reducing stress-related symptoms such as depression, anxiety and physical tension that may contribute to chronic health-related issues. This sounds like another wonderful opportunity to show your heart some tender love. You may attend all five classes or pick and choose whichever ones work best for you. RSVP is helpful! FREE. See the attached flyer for more information.

♥️ Wednesday, February 25 is our first of three non-denominational Lenten Reflections starting right after our Pizza Luncheon, at 12:45-1:45. Centering Prayer and Music is another wonderful practice that is good for the heart.

♥️ Join us Monday, March 2 as we welcome Micheal Curtis from the GR Fire Department. Show your appreciation for their civil service as well as learn about ways you can help keep yourself and your loved ones safe.

♥️ Wednesday, March 4, Reliance Integrated Wellness Center will be following up to the wonderful presentations the Calvin Nursing Students have done on Mental Health. Being an ambassador for your own mental health is a great role model for others, and will do everyone’s heart good!! Check out the attached flyer “It’s a Matter of Safety,” for more information about upcoming events for March.

In the Neighborhood:

Here is one more option coming up, being held at Ivy Rehab on Plainfield: Free Balance Screening on March 21 at 11:00-1:00. Check out the attached flyer for more information.

In the spirit of working together,
