Hello Young at Heart Friends and Family;
Our New Home: Monday and Wednesday of this week participants came to reconnect, tour our new home, sign up for upcoming events, meet the staff at 2nd Church, share stories along with coffee and cookies! Thanks to all who came, volunteered to make coffee and helped to start organizing our supplies. The turn-out was wonderful!!! I hope you all felt welcomed. Classes will start next week, September 16 & 18. See the calendar for more details!
Young at Heart is off and running, well, more like walking! On Saturday, September 7 the Walking Club had a wonderful walk at Pickeral Lake. We hope some of you can join us for the next walk at Calvin Eco Preserve on Saturday, September 14. If interested please contact YAH so we can be sure to give you the correct time and location as the weather may impact the event.
Walking Tour: On Saturday, October 12, Young at Heart Walking Club will be taking a walking tour with staff from the Ford Museum. If you are interested in joining us, please RSVP as soon as possible. The number of participants is limited to 10-15.
Schedule Changes:
- Just a heads up, 2nd Church will be hosting a Second Best Sale, (see attached flyer). As the hosts of the sale will need to set up for the sale in their large dining room, classes such as Exercise and Tai Chi may meet in a different location during this time period. Please reach out to your instructors who will keep you informed.
- This is a late addition to the September Calendar – Join Jo Murphy on Monday, September 23 10:00-11:30 to answer any questions you may have about Medicare and Open Enrollment. She will also be back on Monday, October 7, and available for appointments in November and December. Getting the best plan for you is very important.
Next week we will share more pictures of our new home for those who were unable to tour. We are also hoping to share more about ways you can assist YAH in serving our friends and neighbors even better!
