Hello Young at Heart Friends and Family;

My sincere sympathies to all those who enjoy snow and cold winters and those who make a living on winter activities. While I enjoy some winter events, this early Spring weather sure makes walking my dog a lot easier. Let’s hope and pray it is not a precursor to a dry and hot summer as our Michigan farmers rely on the variety of the seasons for healthy crops.
March is basketball season and Celtic season. While YAH might not have a basketball team, we will be having authentic Celtic music. Please be sure to get your reservation in for the Celtic Trio on Monday, March 11 at 1:15. Five Green Bills will get you in the door. RSVP by Friday, March 15.
- Senior Neighbors has added an extra class to their Technology Support Class schedule this month. Join Joslyn at 10:00 on Wednesday March 13 – Digital Footprint and Wednesday, Match 27 – Streaming. Expect a short lesson, followed by Q/A.
- The Cooking Class on March 11, featuring Breakfast foods, has reached its limit. If you wish to participate, and have not sent in your RSVP, we will put you on the waitlist in case we have cancellations.
- Come join us on Wednesday, March 13 for a showing of “Bonhoeffer: Agent of Grace.” An inspirational story of faith that can bless your Lenten season.
- Monday March 18 and March 25 at 10:00-11:30 and Wednesday March 20 at 10:30-Noon, YAH will be painting bowls/mugs/plates to help support God’s Kitchen. This is a seasonal tradition at YAH. It is a creative, fun activity and supports a great cause. Here is a photo of a few samples from 2021. Please RSVP. Cost is $8.00 – $10.00.
Lunch on Monday, March 18 features Corned Beef & Cabbage, Potatoes OBrien, dinner roll and a dessert. Please RSVP by Friday, March 15 so we are sure to have enough for all you Irish Leprechauns.
- We will conclude the day on March 18 at 12:45 with part two of our Geological Series on Volcanoes and visit Mount Fuji via travelogue. What a FUN day we have planned!! The more the merrier. Just be sure to RSVP so we have comfortable arrangements for the day.
All RSVP’s can be made by responding to this email, or calling 616-451-3043 x 419.
With Lent, basketball, Leprechauns, and spring buds, what a rich season we have!
God Bless,
Virginia
