Hello Young at Heart Friends and Family;
Happy New Year!!! I hope everyone of you had special holiday moments with your family and loved ones. To our many friends who are seeking warmer climates, I pray you have safe travels and arrive safely at your respective destinations.
WINTER CLOSURES: Here in Grand Rapids, the weather forecast remains pretty mild. In case of poor weather conditions, YAH will seek guidance from the school closings. However, sometimes the weather improves in time for safe activities at YAH, or the weather may turn more treacherous. In the event that YAH decides to cancel activities during the winter months, we will ask Wood Radio/ TV 8 and WZZM TV13 to announce any closings. YAH will also aim to send out an email announcement. JANUARY CALENDAR | JANUARY AND FEBRUARY WALKING CLUB
Young at Heart activities will resume on Monday, January 8. In addition to our regular programming, please note:
- YAH will be streaming some of the Calvin January Series starting Monday, January 15 at 12:30. See the flyer for a schedule. Please RSVP.
- Technology Support Classes and Drop-in Sessions will resume Wednesday, January 17 at 10:00.
- FREE Hearing Tests will be offered, Monday, January 22 at 9:00-1:00. RSVP for your 30 minute time slot.
- There will be a special Art Project. Making Jewelry – Enameling Copper, will be offered at two different time slots on Monday, January 22. This is the same class, but each session is limited to 6 participants. So, RSVP by January 19 or earlier to secure your preferred time spot. This class is FREE, thanks to the generosity of the instructor Joan Heuvelhorst.
- Cooking classes will resume in February.
- Woodcarving will resume in March.
I am looking forward to another fun and exciting year, as we continue to meet new faces and journey through life’s adventures together.
