I heard Michigan is having an early Winter Wonderland while I have been in sunny Arizona. This is a good time for me to share the YAH Policy for Closing. If you are a participant in a specific class such as an exercise class, book club, woodcarving, etc. that is planning to cancel, the facilitator will contact you via text/call or email. We do NOT automatically follow the school closings for a variety of reasons.
If the whole YAH Center closes for the day, we will also send out an email and post the closing on Facebook. SO, please make sure your facilitator knows how to reach you in the event that your class is cancelled. Join us next week as we watch “The Six Triple Eight” (6888) movie on Monday, December 8 at 12:45. We will serve Chicken Alfredo with salad and dessert for lunch at Noon. Lunch is $6.00. Or come just to watch the movie, a true story about 855 women Veterans that were tasked with what seemed to be an insurmountable task! Please RSVP.
Wednesday, December 10 will be the first time we will have Senior Meals on Wheels provide a pop-up lunch at 12:00. The lunch is Chicken Parmesan with Rotini Pasta, Tossed Salad, Breadsticks, fruit and a dessert. Cost is: $3.50. YAH will be offering these pop-up lunches once a month starting in January. Come, join us as we experience this new opportunity to receive an affordable healthy lunch during challenging times. Stay for Team Trivia afterwards… a fun, no pressure team competition. RSVP for lunch.
Thursday, December 11 is the bus trip to Downtown Christkindl. Cost for the bus trip is $5.00. Payable to YAH. Please pay in advance, no later than Wednesday, December 10. The bus will pick you up in the parking lot at 2nd Church at 10:45. MUST RSVP by Wednesday, December 10!
LOOKING FORWARD:
ZUMBA last class for 2025 is Tuesday, December 9. GOOD NEWS: CLASSES WILL RESUME starting January 6, 2026. However, since the YMCA will not be able to fund the class for the winter term, YAH is asking for a $3.00 donation when you participate. YAH will be paying for Elsie to continue. We are hoping the YMCA funding will be able to re-engage starting in March.
United Methodist Community House will be providing a monthly bus trip to Walmart on the first Friday, starting in January. (However, for January it will take place on January 9th.) They will pick you up at 2nd Church, allow plenty of time for you to shop, then return back to 2nd Church. MORE DETAILS to come.
