Season Greetings YAH Friends and Family;
Several people have asked us what the Young at Heart has on our Wish List to help YAH grow for 2025. Aside from cash donations, I have compiled the following list of items that we use throughout the year! We welcome donations!!
- Postage Stamps for the cards we send to our Homebound Friends and BirthDay Invitations
- Copy Paper – white and color
- Coffee, Creamer, Sugar
- Paper plates, coffee/water cups, napkins, service ware
- Gift Cards for Gordon Food Service, Meijer, Staples/Office Depot, Pizza Restaurants
Donations can be made in person, or mailed to Young at Heart, PO Box 10045, Grand Rapids, MI 49515. We look forward to seeing what’s under our “Tree” as we look forward to continuing to provide health and wellness services throughout the coming year.
This is our last week of activities for 2024. We will resume activities on Monday, January 6, 2025. Here are a couple of events to put on your calendar:
- Tuesday, January 14 at 10:00, Senior Neighbors will be meeting with YAH to offer a class on Google Documents. If you are interested in learning how to create shared documents through Google, feel free to join us. Please RSVP.
- There will be NO Tai Chi Classes January 6-16 as Mary will be on vacation.
- Technology Classes will resume Wednesday, January 8 at 10:00 with topics such as Managing Social Media, Streaming Services, and Working with Apps.
- We will be doing a Service Project for Storehouse on Wednesday, January 15 at 12:30, a warehouse that stocks supplies at a reduced rate for Non-profits. Help open mystery boxes, sort and stock. Participants can sit or do some light lifting. Please RSVP.
- Wednesday, January 22 at 12:00, Mike and Terri will be sharing a travelogue on an African Safari. Come join the fun!
- We will be live streaming two of the Calvin University January Series. Jonathan Eig and Peter Sagal will be the two guests on Monday, January 20 and January 27 respectively.
HEALTH TIP for the HOLIDAYS: Stay healthy, and remember – balancing on one foot at a time, for 30 seconds, can help decrease the risk of falling.
