A BUSY & EXCITING WEEK AHEAD!
This week is BUSY as we lead up to the Labor Day weekend — and there are some exciting things happening at Young at Heart!

Your Board has been very busy with interviews, meetings, and looking at ways to improve our program, bring in new ideas, and encourage more participation. We are excited about the direction Young at Heart is heading! 
BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!
We are VERY excited to announce that we have hired our new:
SENIOR PROGRAM COORDINATOR — KARLA THOMPSON!
This is a brand-new position at Young at Heart that we have been developing for quite some time.
Karla will be working with our participants, volunteers, meals, activities, sign-ups, and many of the day-to-day details that help keep Young at Heart running smoothly.
Our Interim Director, Mary Ellen, will officially introduce Karla soon.
I just KNOW all of you will give Karla a BIG Young at Heart welcome!

Our Bring a Friend Contest is going strong!
Have you invited someone new yet? Maybe it’s a neighbor, friend, relative, or someone who could simply use a little more fun and friendship in their life.

Monday, August 31: There will be NO speaker. GR Elderly Care has been rescheduled for October 21.
Thursday, September 3 — Bargains & Bites Lunch Bunch!

Monday, September 7 — CLOSED for Labor Day.

Our friends at United Methodist Church House (UMCH) have invited Young at Heart participants to join some of their upcoming trips! 
Friday, September 18 — Gull Lake Casino
Pickup at 9:00 AM, home by noon.
$15 paid to YAH when you SIGN UP.
Friday, September 25 — Robinette’s Wine Tasting
Pickup at 10:00 AM, home by 1:00 PM. $10 paid to YAH when you SIGN UP.
Space may be limited, so don’t wait if you are interested!
