A BIG THANK YOU!
While it has been a tough week for YAH participants, we did our best to have fun and celebrate Motherhood and babies with the High Tea and Baby Shower. This event supported St. Gianna’s No Cost Baby Boutique. Participants donated items such as baby bottles, baby food, diapers, countless homemade items such as burp cloths, blankets, balls, teddy bears, and bibs, as well as $175.00 cash.
Thank you to all the VOLUNTEERS who prepared the food, set up, decorated, donated use of their tea accessories, and cleaned up. You all did an amazing job!!
Also, thank you to all who attended the meeting with Fr. Christopher on Monday, May 6 to reflect on the program changes within Young at Heart. It was very important that you attended to show support for a program that you have all helped to create. It was also important non-attendees participated in this meeting to show their support as they too are impacted in a variety of ways. While things will be confusing for a while as details of what comes next will be worked out, I hope everyone left feeling supported in one way or another.
UPCOMING PROGRAMMING
Wednesday, May 22 at 9:00-11:00, Woodburner Extraordinaire, Karen Brown will be coming to the Woodcarver’s Class to help teach some techniques of woodburning. This is open to ALL levels of woodburners, including newbies who just may be interested in trying this art form. Karen will be bringing additional woodburners. Cost is $10.00/person. PLEASE RSVP no later than Friday, May 17.
Wednesday, May 29 is our Annual White Caps Outing. Join us as we “root, root, root for the home team.” Game starts at 11:00. Meet at the ballpark, or carpool from St. Al’s at 10:15. Cost is $10/game. Parking is an additional $8.00. RSVP with $10.00 payment by Friday, May 17.
Saturday, May 18 is the Schubert Spring Concert. Tickets are available at the Parish Office. Come see our very own Chris Kaiser and Catherine’s (Parish Secretary) husband, Neil McKenzie perform with the chorale.

We are so happy to be able to celebrate this event with a BRIDAL SHOWER on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 from noon – 2:00 in the Cafeteria of the Parish Center.
