Hello Young at Heart Friends and Family;
May, the month in which we honor Mothers is here! May we honor our mothers, the memory of our mothers, and the sacrifices they made. May you also honor your own role as a mother, and the young mothers of today. Let’s also honor our Spiritual Mother, who loves and guides us through the challenges. Motherhood, in its many shapes and forms is both a challenge, a reward and an honor. THANK YOU, ALL MOTHERS!!
- Monday, May 6 is our annual Mother’s Day Tea and Baby Shower. Please be sure to RSVP ASAP. This event will be capped at 40, but there is still space available as of this writing. Cost for lunch is $5.00, plus bring a donated item or a cash donation for St. Gianna’s Baby Boutique. Games will start at 11:00, lunch will be served at Noon. A presentation by Stephanie Busch will follow lunch. The lunch menu is Finger Sandwiches, Scones, Fruit and Petit Fours.
- Monday, May 13 The Ginger Chef returns for the Cooking Class. This month, upon request, she is featuring all food Vegan. Learn some new healthy recipes, while having a great time! RSVP. Cost is $5.00.
- Wednesday, May 15 is the May BirthDay Brunch. I was recently informed some of the invitations may have said May 10. I apologize for the confusion. French Toast Casserole, Bacon, Fruit and Pastries is on the menu. Cost for non-Birthday Celebrants is $5.00. RSVP. Sara Post, the Instructor for the Calvin Nursing Students is passing the Torch. In gratitude for all the students have done for YAH, we will be asking participants to sign a Thank you card, and will be presenting her with a gift at the BirthDay Brunch. Sara is a perfect example of a person who has worn many ‘motherhood’ hats.
