Finding Quiet in the midst of a Busy Season

Hello Young at Heart Friends and Family;

The first flakes of snow dot our yards, as we transition from Thanksgiving to that period of waiting for Christmas and then Spring. The snow and cold has a way of slowing us down. Many yards have been brightly decorated, celebrating the many facets of the upcoming holidays. That reminds us of the joy of the season.

Next Monday, December 4 at 12:45-2:00, YAH will be offering Advent Reflections. This will be an opportunity to reflect on the four weeks of Advent through poetry, song, story, music, and activities. Hopefully, we can all find some time to slow down, breathe, and seek some quiet time to reflect. Please join us as we share in this wonderful time of year. RSVP is helpful.

There will be no pickleball next week Tuesday or Wednesday as the gym will be closed due to the Annual Christmas Store.

Craft Sale: Attached are some pictures of the various items the YAH Crafters have been busy making. They will be displaying for sale a selection of their items at the Christmas Party on Monday, December 18, 10:00-2:00.Among the selection you will find high quality baby blankets, bibs, burp cloths, stuffed balls and teddy bears; cloth bags of various sizes; hats, mittens and scarves; cozies, quilts and table-runners, along with  countless other homemade items that are very practical and make great gift items.

Quilt Raffle: We will be picking the raffle winner for the beautiful quilt also at the Christmas Party. This will be your last chance to purchase a ticket for the drawing. Tickets are only $1.00 each or 6 tickets for $5.00. See the photo to the left of the quilt.

Just a couple more weeks to purchase your tickets for the Schubert Christmas Concert. Help celebrate their 140th Anniversary! The concert is Saturday, December 16 @ 7:30. Cost is $20.00. See the flyer for more information.

May you find some peace and quiet in the midst of the busyness of this joy-filled season,
