Hello Young at Heart Friends and Family,
THANKSGIVING: Here at the Young at Heart, we have so much for which to be thankful! We have a wonderful facility, we have access to a supportive staff at St. Alphonsus, we have amazing volunteers and class facilitators, we have had a great year with wonderful presenters, and overall, our participants have been fairly healthy.
Come Celebrate all you are Thankful for at our Thanksgiving Celebration. We will be serving lunch on Monday, November 20th at Noon, followed by entertainment by Trino the Magician at 1:00-2:00. https://www.trinomagic.com/. Cost: $5.00 for Lunch; $5.00 for Entertainment. Please be sure to RSVP by this Friday, November 17th.
LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS!!! We are looking for a few more people who are willing to volunteer with some of the behind-the-scenes activities as we prepare to start 2024. Are you willing to make coffee? Willing to help get activities started as we transition from one activity to another? willing to set up or clean up after lunch? Are you interested in helping us book presenters? entertainers? outings? Are you interested in filing, or crunching numbers??? None of these tasks require much time. You can offer your service once a week, or once a month. We will work with your schedule, interest and comfort level.
PICKLEBALL is a wildly growing sport. That is no exception here at YAH. To help allow adequate play time, we are expanding our time on Tuesdays. The gym is open at 9:00 -11:30. Please plan to play at 9:00-10:30 or 10:00 -11:30. This will allow quality play time, and still accommodate for the growing numbers. Wednesday pickleball is geared for beginners, and will continue to play at 10:45-Noon.
STANDING TAI CHI has officially begun. Mary will hold class each Monday and Wednesday at 11:45-12:30. This is excellent to strengthen your core, reduce your chances of falling, enhance your flexibility and posture. Cost: $3.00 Donation. See the flyer for more information.
CHRISTMAS CONCERT: Click here to view the flyer I promised with more information regarding the Male Schubert Chorus Christmas Concert. This is a fun way to celebrate the Holidays. Join us for the 140th Anniversary! Saturday, December 16th at 7:30pm at Calvin College. Help support this long-standing Tradition, as well as the Young at Heart! Cost is $20.00.
