Cooking, crafts and Oz??? Oh, my!

Hello Young at Heart Friends and Family;

I am hearing great reviews from the tour of the Michigan State Police Post and Crime Lab. We had a lot of interest in this tour and had to cap the limit. We will be looking to schedule a second tour soon. Stay tuned.

Next week is Labor Day weekend. We will be closed on Monday, September 5th. We have a wonderful cooking class coming up on Monday, September 12th. We will be learning how to fix Kale. The menu is: Autumn Grain Bowl with Kale, Tuscan Kale Soup (a lot like Italian Wedding Soup) and Kale Chips. Please get your RSVPs in soon. Lunch will be followed by a fascinating presentation on history, trivia and everything else you wanted to know about the Wizard of Oz.What do they do at an Oz convention? Why is there still such fascination with this classic story? Come join us for answers. Don’t be a cowardly lion!

The Sewing Club is being resurrected. They are inviting anyone, beginner or accomplished to join them the first and third Tuesday of each month at 10:00 AM. No experience is required. Supplies and machines are available!! Bring new and old ideas. All are welcome!  YAH will also be participating/ featuring our sewing and craft items at several events in October/ November. See the attached flyer for more information on both the Sewing Club and upcoming Craft Sales Events.

The Exercise Class is currently our fastest growing class! Thanks to all of you who are inviting your friends and family. That is the greatest compliment!

Starting Monday, September 12th, we will resume Chair Tai Chi. Mary is looking forward to seeing her regular students and a few new faces. Questions? Call Mary at 616-454-0604.

Hearing Tests: Beltone will be in the house on Monday, September 26th from 9:00-1:00. Grab your spot to have your hearing tested.

Attached is the revised September Calendar of Events, updating the menus for Senior Meals and correcting a few errors. 😉
