Hello Young at Heart Friends and Family;
Will March pass on like a lion or a lamb as we welcome April Fools this week? I love April as I anticipate Spring Flowers bursting at the seams, and the energetic excitement of summer. But, I hate to rush Spring. It is such a wonderful season filled with renewal and fresh beginnings. Slow down, savor the snowdrops and crocus, that will soon give way to tulips and bright green buds on the trees.
Sad news. Jennette, our wonderful Technology Instructor, has opted to end her role as our Technology Expert. The time conflicts with her home schedules and family responsibilities. If you see her, please wish her well.
COMING SOON:
Please get your reservations in for next Monday, April 4th’s lunch, a tasty Tex-Mex King Ranch Casserole, served with a salad and yummy dessert. Cost is $5.00. Please RSVP before this Friday, April 1st. Bingo will follow.
St. Al’s staff, Maureen and Carol, will lead a Lenten Reflection on Wednesday, April 6th at 10:00. This will be followed by Jodi Deshaine’s award winning chili at noon, followed by the movie, End of the Spear. A young man’s journey to solving the mystery of how his Missionary father died and the people he meets along the way. Join us for this day of spiritual reflection and life changing journeys.
LOOKING AHEAD:
Like I said I do not want to rush Spring, but we do have two fun events we want you to be aware of as you plan your Spring calendar.
Saturday, May 14th is the Schubert Male Chorus Spring Concert, “Sea to Shining Sea.” See the attached flyer for more information. YAH will be selling tickets.
Tuesday, May 17th Take A Drive Down Tulip Lane: We will be offering a day to have lunch in Holland, and take a drive through town viewing the tulips in a 1973 Mustang Convertible or a 1988 Sebring Convertible. All attendees will receive a free historical memory book of Holland, MI. and a Tulip Time souvenir tote bag. (Tuesday, May 24th will be a back-up day in case of poor weather on May 17th.)
Looking forward to Springing into Fun and Fellowship,
Virginia Scholten
